Allbirds: “Come See Our New DC Store!”

Ed. Note: This is the former Ben & Jerry’s space.

From an email:

“Every Allbirds store has its own color pop, for the D.C. store the color pop is white, inspired by the architectural monuments of the city.

Each Allbirds store has its own unique three lace colors, that are free with a purchase of a Runner, that reference local themes. In the D.C. store the colors are: Mumbo Sauce Orange, Logan Circle Green, and Georgetown Grey.

The D.C. store will feature a limited-edition D.C. only pair of shoes inspired by the area’s famous Cherry Blossoms. These will be available upon opening for a limited time!

Design Details:

· Allbirds stores are customer-centric, uniquely built to adapt to rapidly-changing inventory to enable an incredible shopping experience.

· The walls in all stores are modular, with a custom tile system which can be easily popped out and replaced with new fixtures, allowing for the expansion of the product line.

· The traditional “back of house” is designed into the Allbirds shopping experience, with inventory displayed on shelves specifically fabricated to allow their exposure to the space; this ease of access to inventory cuts down on transport time from “stock room” to the customers hand, and allows the store to transition with the seasons as new colors are introduced.

· Store seating is designed by Allbirds’s Head of Design, Jamie McLellan, an industrial designer who previously spent time working with Tom Dixon. Each chair is crafted to support the perfect “try-on” experience, with the precise height and slight tilt engineered to allow for a seamless experience.

· Displays in the windows and throughout the store highlight the premium natural materials used in Allbirds’s sustainable products and add an element of consumer education.”
