“Dear PoPville,
I’m seeking guidance from the community about where to start with a SFH to condo conversion. I currently live in the home which has NC-15 zoning, so this type of development is allowed. (A neighboring SFH was converted to two condos a few years ago by a developer I don’t fully trust, but that’s a different story.)
It’s a 2-story 2/2 rowhouse (1075sf) I wish to convert to 2 or 3 condos by building up and back; I’d like to keep one unit for myself. In a perfect world the process will start this year, however I am still in the early feasibility phase and have not yet talked to any engineers/ contractors/design-build firms about the project.
Has anyone in the community taken on such a project in the past several years? Any recommendations for a contractor, design/build firm, development company, etc, that specializes in this arena and could help usher me through the process? Any insight is helpful! Thanks!”
