Shooting in Woodridge Monday Night, Man Reportedly Killed after more than 30 shots fired

WTOP reported:

“A shooting that occurred Monday evening in Northeast D.C. has left a man dead.

D.C. police said a gunfire locator detected more than 30 shots were fired, and is unclear how many of those rounds struck the victim.”

Update from MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Monday, November 25, 2019, in the 2500 block of Rhode Island Avenue, Northeast.

At approximately 11:09 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 22 year-old Dante Hicks, of Northeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099.
