“For the cooler months, the Conrad Washington, DC will bring a taste of the French and Italian Alps to CityCenterDC. Launching this Friday, November 22nd in collaboration with Moncler, the Conrad’s third floor terrace will transform into a luxurious Après Ski experience complete with mountain lodge décor and European-inspired specialty cocktails and shareable dishes.

Guests are invited to snuggle up next to the outdoor fire pits with provided blankets and enjoy thermoses for two of Hot Buttered Rum and ‘Haute’ Toddies. Offerings from the special terrace menu, available in full here APRES SKI MENU (PDF), include wines by the glass, beers, cocktails and an extensive Fromage et Charcuterie Board featuring Tomme de Savoie and Saucisson d’Alsace salami served with house-made persimmon mostarda and accompaniments, Croque Madame au Confit de Canard prepared with duck confit, duck prosciutto and gruyere, and fireside S’mores with chocolate ganache and chocolate rocks.

Guests at Après Ski on the Terrace are also invited to explore the interactive Moncler ski gondola activation, complete with a display of the latest Moncler outerwear, located in the lobby of the Conrad. Hotel guests staying in the exclusive Sakura Club will have the ability to borrow Moncler coats from their rooms to wear while enjoying the ultimate winter experience. Après Ski on the Terrace staff will also be outfitted in Moncler coats.

Those who attend the grand opening of Après Ski on the Terrace on Friday the 22nd, from 5-7pm, will receive a complimentary amaro-based cocktail, the Montagne et Monastere made with Amaro and Lambrusco.

Après Ski on the Terrace will run, weather permitting, Tuesdays to Thursdays from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 4 p.m. – 11 p.m. through February.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
