Trickling Springs Creamery “shutting down plant operations…Washington D.C. locations closing within the coming weeks.”

7th and Pennsylvania Ave, SE

Trickling Springs D.C. locations are in Union Market at 1309 5th Street, NE and across from Eastern Market – pictured above. Unclear when their exact last days open will be. The Eastern Market location only opened last summer.

Thanks to all who sent the sad news from The Record Herald:

“”We regret to announce that effective Sept. 27, 2019, Trickling Springs Creamery will be shutting down plant operations,” said Joe Miller, director of sales and marketing for Trickling Springs, which sells and produces dairy products.”

While they did not give a reason for the closure, a few readers passed on this legal document with some serious allegations:

“From in or about July 2015 until March 2018, at least $1,184,318 was
withdrawn in cash from Respondent TSC’s bank accounts”

Trickling Springs website says:

“Trickling Springs Creamery was founded in 2001 by two friends who aimed to produce fresh, exceptional- tasting dairy products while promoting local farmers doing an excellent job with their farms. The founders started by establishing strict guidelines for the family farms producing their milk. The farmers were required to maintain grass-fed, heritage breed cows, produce very clean milk (as measured by SCC & SPC counts), and use no synthetic hormones. The founders offered to pay farmers above average prices for maintaining these high standards. Trickling Springs Creamery would then process the milk as minimally as allowed by law. These principles are still followed and in many cases have been strengthened to more strict standards of feeding and sustainability.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
