Today’s Rental was chosen because it really does look bright

Today’s rental is located “in the edgy neighborhood of Petworth.” The Craigslist ad says:

“$2900 / 2br – 1150ft2 – Modern, bright, 2-bedroom condo [no pets] (Petworth)

This new, fully renovated, and bright condominium in a 1930s building features two bedrooms and two private baths in the edgy neighborhood of Petworth. It can be available as partially furnished (one bedroom) or unfurnished.

Renovated in 2013, this 1150-ft² (~100m²) unit is located in a secure building with quiet neighbors and features new amenities, hardwood floors, and white quartz counter tops.

Free, no-zone parking is available on one adjacent street, and the Metro is a 10-minute walk. The apartment features an open, modern living area, a dining area/ study nook, breakfast bar, and cozy living room. Set in a quiet neighborhood with tree-lined streets, it is just a few blocks from restaurants, cafes, and pubs such as Petworth Citizen, Himitsu, Timber, Dos Mamis, and Qualia Coffee. It’s also near Safeway and Yes! Organic Market.

Background and credit check required; one-year lease. No pets and no smokers (of any substance).”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
