“Location of incident: in the rear of 2200 Q Street, NW.

At approximately 12:00 pm., a suspect fired a weapon at the listed location.

Members on the scene recovered two shell casings. No victim, no vehicle, or property were damaged.

“The Third District is investigating a shooting in the 2600 block of Sherman Ave. NW. An adult male is in critical condition at an area hospital, with gunshot wounds. Officers and Detectives are on scene investigating the offense. Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099″

“2700 block of 22nd Street N.E.

Carjacking while Armed (gun), ADW-Gun x2

Suspect-1 Adult Black Male, approximately 5’07” tall, medium complexion, close cut hair, 20-30 years of age, armed with a black handgun, clad in a white tank top, and black shorts with white lettering/writing down the right short leg.

On Sunday, July 21, 2019, at approximately 0742 hours, members of the Office of Unified Communications received 911 calls for assistance in regards to a shooting victim and a carjacked vehicle. At 0743 hours, members of the Fifth District Uniform Patrol Section, to include, but not limited to; 521, 5031, 5032, 5033, SB-505, and 5051. Once members arrived on the scene, they located C1 suffering from a gunshot wound to his left leg. C1 was bleeding profusely (it was later learned from WHC doctors, that C1 was shot through the femoral artery) at which time, Ofc. Collin Cole, Ofc. William Burke, and Ofc. Sara Conner immediately began to render life-saving medical assistance. These members quickly calmed C1 down and employed C1’s belt as a tourniquet and medical dressings to slow and stop the arterial bleeding. C1 was then transported to WHC for much needed medical treatment.

While on the scene, C2 was located and was found to be suffering from a laceration to his right ear. C2 was subsequently transported to WHC for medical treatment. C3 was located and found to be shaken and in shock.

Through and on-scene investigation, it was learned that at approximately 0740 hours, members of the church located at 2715 22nd Street N.E. witnessed S1 breaking into C2’s parked vehicle. C2 responded over to his parked vehicle and confronted S1, at which time S1 produced a handgun and struck C2 on the right side of his head/ear. S1 then fled the immediate area and attempted to enter another parked vehicle, a Grey in color 2016 Toyota Camry four-door bearing Maryland temporary registration of T958239 (previously stolen vehicle CCNs 19-122368, previously stolen tags 19-123174, and vehicle believed used by S1 to arrive at the crime scene) and flee the scene. S1 could not find the key to this stolen vehicle and he fled from this vehicle.

S1 then encountered C3, who was driving and about to park her Grey in color 2006 Toyota Corolla four-door bearing Maryland registration of 5CDX96 at the intersection of 22nd & Evarts Street N.E. S1 while armed with his handgun ordered and pulled C3 out of her vehicle. C1 intervened in this offense and attempted to come aid C3. At this time S1 shot C1 in the left leg with his handgun. S1 then fled the scene in C3’s carjacked vehicle. S1 fled northbound in the 2700 block of 22nd Street N.E. and while doing so clipped the driver’s side mirror of a parked and unoccupied vehicle.

A flash lookout was broadcasted for S1 and C3’s carjacked vehicle.

At approximately 0920 hours, members of the Prince George’s County Police Department and members of the Prince George’s County Fire Department received 911 calls for a vehicle fire at 6180 Old Central Ave Capitol Heights, Maryland. Once on the scene, C3’s carjacked vehicle was located ablaze. S1 was not on the scene.”

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday, July 20, 2019, in the 1100 block of U Street, Northwest.

At approximately 2:42 am, members of the Third District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. After all lifesaving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 34 year-old Eric Byrd, of Southeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. “The Fifth District is investigating a shooting that occurred on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at approximately 8:57 PM in the 2300 block of 15th Street, NE.

Three adult male victims were found at the location suffering from gunshot wounds. A fourth victim was later transported to an area hospital by way of private vehicle.

All of the victims suffered non life-threatening injuries.
