CitySwing “immersive pop up golf experience” Now Open in Mount Vernon Square

1055 5th Street, NW

Thanks to Michael for sending word that CitySwing had opened in the former Ace Hardware space.

Their website says:

“CitySwing is an immersive pop up golf experience in the heart of the city. We believe golf should be convenient and accessible to everyone. Our space was created for a wide range of golfers – from those addicted to the game to those that have never imagined themselves participating. Think of us as an alternative to outdoor golf when time, weather or proximity prohibit traditional play and as an inclusive and non-intimidating place to practice, or simply get introduced to the game. We are passionate about 3 things:

We love the game of golf
We believe there are personal and professional benefits to knowing how to play
We believe everyone should feel they belong and are included

CitySwing features TrackMan technology and is complemented by energizing décor, fun beats, and even the inspiring work of papercraft artist, Alicia Kelly. We created an inviting place to strengthen your game, chill with your friends, or learn the basics.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
