Suspect Wanted Regarding Daytime Shooting in Columbia Heights

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District seek the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Friday, May 17, 2019, in the 1300 block of Columbia Road, Northwest.

At approximately 4:24 pm, members of the Third District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, two adult male victims were located suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in locating 25 year-old Stephawn Malik Watson, of Capitol Heights, MD. Watson is currently wanted on DC Superior Court arrest warrant for Carrying a Pistol without a License in reference to this offense. Watson can be seen in the photo above.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Stephawn Malik Watson or has knowledge of this offense, should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
