From an email:

“Tonight, The Tavern by sweetgreen, the first-ever market from the salad chain focusing on all things fresh and local, will launch its sweetflow walk-up window garden out of its storefront off of M Street in Georgetown.

sweetflow, sweetgreen’s beloved, fan-favorite frozen yogurt that disappeared off menus in 2014, made its return last year at The Tavern with a upgrade as the company partnered with local purveyor Dolcezza Gelato to make the frozen treat even more delicious. Toppings rotate and include everything from sesame crumble from Nick Wiseman’s Little Sesame, to cookie crumbles made from Paisley Fig cookies.

To celebrate the opening and warmer weather, the walk-up window will open this evening from 6-8pm with the first 50 people to swing by getting free sweetflow. In the spirit of all things local, there will also be specials and giveaways from area favorites (think Gordy’s Pickles and A Baked Joint) all night long.

After tonight’s launch, hours for the walk-up window will be Mon-Sun, 11am-8pm, weather permitting.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
