31 Year Old Pedestrian Killed at 3pm Yesterday by Reckless Driver, Arrest Made.

“Detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit are investigating a traffic fatality that occurred on Sunday, April 21, 2019, in the intersection of 16th Street and V Street, Southeast.

At approximately 3:00 pm, the operator of a 2012 Chevrolet Cruz was traveling at a high rate of speed, eastbound in the 1400 and 1500 blocks of V Street, Southeast. The operator of the Chevrolet Cruz entered the intersection of 16th and V Street, Southeast, and struck a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu. The impact of the crash caused the Chevrolet Malibu to redirect, striking a pedestrian who was walking in the 2100 block of 16th Street, Southeast.

The operator of the Chevrolet Cruz, the operator of the Chevrolet Malibu, its three passengers, and the pedestrian were transported to area hospitals. After all life-saving efforts failed, the pedestrian was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 31-year-old Abdul Seck, of Bronx, New York.

On Sunday, April 21, 2019, the operator of a 2012 Chevrolet Cruz, 21-year-old Dejuan Andre Marshall, of Southeast, DC, was arrested. He has been charged with Second Degree Murder.”
