From a press release:

“Today, Gerber Group officially launches 12 Stories, the brand’s first D.C. property (75 District Square SW, 12th floor) located at the top of The InterContinental Hotel in the city’s new billion-dollar residential and retail development, The Wharf.

Designed by SLDesign, the new penthouse bar is a sexy, modern addition to The Wharf landscape, boasting a nearly 360-degree view of The Potomac and the Washington skyline.

12 Stories features modern artwork by Paige Smith, industrial-chic design touches like concrete flooring, wired pendulum lighting, velvet, marble, leather and wood furniture and an expansive 26-foot NanaWall, opening up onto an outdoor terrace.

In addition to a stylish night out, Washingtonians can enjoy private and semi-private events in the beautifully appointed 3,500-square-foot space, which seats 170 guests and is configured into three distinct zones with unique vantage points of The Wharf and beyond.

The bar’s large 13-foot floor-to-ceiling windows offer unparalleled sightlines of the Jefferson, Lincoln and Air Force Memorials, as well as the pinnacle of the Washington Monument and Hains Point. These sweeping views of the nation’s capital provide a one-of-a-kind perspective seen nowhere else in the city.

“Washington is a truly beautiful new home for us and as we’ve built out 12 Stories and have taken in that magnificent view time and time again, I’ve come to appreciate even more deeply what makes this city so special,” says Principal and CEO of Gerber Group, Scott Gerber.

The bar’s thoughtfully curated cocktail menu includes new spins on the classics like the zero-degree “Superchilled Martini 24” and “Superchilled Negroni” — both chilled to icy perfection — as well as the “GG Manhattan” and ” Casamigos Frozen Margarita.”

An impressive selection of innovative house cocktails includes the “J Street Spritz,” made with Tito’s vodka, Amaro Nonino, lime juice, raspberries, Domaine Chandon and sparkling soda, as well as “Blue Velvet,” a mix of Casamigos reposado tequila, blueberry juice, lemon juice and soda.

Complementing the drinks menu, which also includes several non-alcohol options, is a selection of elevated bar food that features everything from locally sourced oysters to a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich to ceviche-style crudo. Opening with bar and late-night bites, 12 Stories plans to launch its brunch service in May.

Gerber Group is the hospitality industry leader behind favorites like NYC’s Mr. Purple, The Roof and The Campbell, plus Atlanta haunt Whiskey Blue, known for its signature elevated nightlife experience and top-notch food and beverage.

12 Stories will be open Monday-Friday, 4pm to 2am and on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 2am.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
