“On 4/8/19, at approximately 6:00 p.m., First District officers responded to the 200 block of N Street SW for the sound of gunshots. Officers found evidence of gunfire, including damage to a fence.
Fortunately, no one was struck by the shots. During the investigation on-scene, the following suspect description was developed: black male, wearing a black hooded jacket or sweatshirt with a white stripe on the rear, black pants, and black and white shoes.
First District Detectives are actively investigating the incident. Should anyone have any information or video related to the incident, please contact the First District Detective’s office at (202) 299-2025, or the Metropolitan Police Department’s Command Information Center at (202) 727-9099.”

“Last night around 8:00 PM, Fourth District units responded to the 100 block of Michigan Avenue, NE for the sounds of gunshots. No injuries, nor property damage, was reported. While units were on the scene investigating, a citizen directed them to where the shots were heard. After a thorough search, a Ruger LCP .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol was recovered from a storm drain, and a shell casing was found nearby.”

“Last night around 8:20 hours, Fourth District units were dispatched to the sounds of gunshots in the 700 block of Webster Street, NW. A thorough canvass was conducted, and no injured parties were located. One vehicle was found with damage believed to be from the gunfire. The cause of this incident has not been determined, and is under investigation by the Fourth District Detective’s Unit. Anyone with information or video that may be relevant to this incident is asked to call 202.727.9099, or text 50411. The case number (CCN) is 19-059-556.
Additionally, while investigating the incident, a citizen reported a vehicle in the area that may have been involved, and following a stop of the vehicle, one juvenile male was arrested after being found in possession of a BB gun, and a second bb gun was recovered from inside of the vehicle.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!
The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!
What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
