“The Pub & The People has started doing free, live, local music!”

1648 North Capitol St, NW at R Street courtesy Pub and the People

From an email:

“The Pub & The People (Corner of N Capitol St & R St NW) has started doing free, live, local music!

We’ve been working with the badass Ben Tufts (a DC musician that has been involved for decades in the local music scene) and 7DrumCity to put together really great one/two person acts here at The Pub. We even learned how to do sound engineering, so we can make it sound really really nice.

Here is the schedule for the this month – we will be doing it every Sunday and Tuesday from 6-8pm:

Sun 3/3 Bobby Thompson (blues)
Tue 3/5 Olivia Mancini (pop)
Sun 3/10 Selena Benally (rock)
Tue 3/12 Bassappella (Christopher Brown) (soundscape)
Sun 3/17 Jasmine Gillison (indie folk)
Tue 3/19 Kristie di Lascio (of Loi Loi) (electro-pop)
Sun 3/24 Ardamus (rap)
Tue 3/26 Sara Ghebremichael (indie/folk)
Sun 3/31 Brent Peterson (rock/country)

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
