Your Afternoon Animal Fix – AdoPtville

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share for the regular fix please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. AdoPtville is run by two volunteers who compile these pets weekly from local shelters.

Now, we appreciate that our friend Cupid does not appear easily impressed. Can you blame him? Valentine’s Day has come and gone, and this handsome gent is still looking for his forever home! Cupid is approximately 13 years old, and is blind, but that doesn’t stop this gentle kitty from being a loving and sweet companion. Cupid loves for his people to talk to him, so he’s able to “see” where they are; he’s a very affectionate kitty who will do best in a calm environment. Cupid is a true lovebug with a lot to give in his new home – will it be yours? Find out more about this lovable dude here.

Meet Hannah! This 8-month-old cutie is looking for her forever home, with a canine big brother or sister to show her the ropes! Hannah is a bit timid, and will benefit from an older, confident dog’s mentoring. She does fine in her crate, and even gets along with her foster mom’s cats! Hannah can take some time to warm up to new people, but once she does, she’s very sweet and gentle. Hannah has medium energy, but as a pup, will need plenty of exercise and training to make her the best lifelong companion she can be. Find out more about adopting this gorgeous girl here.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
