From MPD Monday night:

“Earlier this evening members of the First District responded to a call for a stabbing in front of 1200 North Capitol Street NW. Police investigation revealed that the victim and the suspect had been involved in a verbal dispute while in front of the liquor store in the 1300 Blk of North Capitol St NW in the Fifth District. The suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the shoulder and abdomen. The suspect then fled the scene on foot into 1D. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Members of the Fifth District Detectives Unit are investigating.
