Your Afternoon Animal Fix – AdoPtville

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share for the regular fix please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. AdoPtville is run by two volunteers who compile these pets weekly from local shelters.

Clove is a beautiful, gentle soul who is learning to live in a home with people who love her. She was rescued from a Korean meat farm in October 2018 and brought to Lost Dog shortly thereafter.

The world outside the one she knew in Korea is sometimes a very scary place for Clove. But she’s thriving in a foster home, and learning all sorts of cues that help her know what to expect.

Clove will do best in a quiet home with a family willing to be patient as she learns to navigate this wonderful new world, and also take the necessary precautions to keep her safe, such as not opening doors to the outside without having a firm grip on her leash.

There is something very special about helping a shy dog blossom into a dog who’s comfortable in the world around her, and Clove is on the cusp of being that dog. Could she take the final steps of her journey with you?

Hi There! You can stop looking at other cat profiles now- you just found the perfect cat!

No, really- Peregrine is perfect! She is cuddly, sweet, excited to meet new people, great with kids, good with other cats, and absolutely adorable! She loves to be picked up, carried around, cuddled, and doted on with lots of affection. She quacks like a duck, and quacks excitedly whenever she sees her humans.

She recently finished weaning a litter of kittens and is ready to be the center of attention!

She races her humans to the couch, jumps up on their laps and settles in for snuggles. She will happily lay on your chest or lap, purring away while you watch tv or catch up on emails. Once she’s gotten her quota of cuddle though, she is ready to play, play, play! Peregrine is still a kitten at heart and has lots of energy and silliness bottled up in that little body of hers! She loves dangle-wands, toys with feathers, and watching squirrels run by the window.

To learn more or to meet Peregrine, email the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation at [email protected].

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
