A reader and MPD reported 11:15pm Tuesday night:
“Shooting //800 blk of Kennedy Street, NW //No lookout”
Update from MPD:
“On Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at approximately 10:50PM, MPD units responded to investigate a call for the sounds of gunshots in the area of the 700 block of Kennedy Street, NW. Upon arrival, units observed multiple shell casings in the street and located (1) victim who appeared to be suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the lower left leg. The victim was conscious and breathing and transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The suspects in this event were described as three black males, approximately 20 years of age. The suspects possibly fled the area on foot.
The Metropolitan Police Department is actively investigating this incident and requests that anyone who has information related to this or any other crime call (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.”
