Forze Gym coming beneath the new Spy Museum Location

Thanks to Jonathan Padget for sending:

“This could be a nice addition to L’Enfant Plaza — utilizing lots of vacant space below the new International Spy Museum!”

You can see Forze’s website here.

Regarding the International Spy Museum:

“The Malrite Company and JBG collaborated extensively on plans for the new 140,000-square-foot facility, which will sit directly in front of the glass atrium on the Plaza. Renowned London-based architects Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners created a design for the iconic building that will have a distinct and dynamic identity. Washington-based Hickok Cole Architects will be the architect of record for the project.”

“At 140,000 square feet, the new Museum will provide more than double the floor space of the existing building, at 800 F Street NW, and will include new resources for educational programing, a lecture hall/theater, and multifunction event space with sweeping views of DC.”

“The International Spy Museum, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit entity, is the only public museum in the United States solely dedicated to the tradecraft, history, and contemporary role of espionage and intelligence. Open since July 2002, the Museum features the largest collection of international espionage artifacts ever placed on public display. The mission of the International Spy Museum is to educate the public about espionage and intelligence in an engaging way and to provide a context that fosters understanding of their important role and impact on current and historic events. The Museum’s collection chronicles the history of espionage, from its inception, to the modern day challenges facing intelligence professionals worldwide in the 21st Century. Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
