This rental is located at 18th and S Street, NW. The Craigslist ad says:

“$3200 / 1000ft2 – 2 story apartment with great light & patio

Unique, light-flooded (direct sunlight until 1 PM), air-conditioned loft apartment with outdoor patio. 2 stories of open space with bamboo floor and large brick wall with built-in bookshelf. The apartment has a Maine aesthetic with tree trunks and pine paneling as design elements. Appeals to individuals or couple who appreciate space, light and materials such as those in the arts / architecture.

Large windows on the bedroom / office floor have both complete darkening roller blinds, and up and down translucent blinds allowing viewing the sky while providing as much privacy as desired. Kitchen has 2″ inch white Venetian blinds. Dining area has 2″ inch wooden Venetian blinds.

Kitchen cabinets with soft-closing doors provide a lot of storage space. Granite counter top and Turkish marble backsplash. Mexican tile floor.

Apartment is unfurnished, except a large burgundy area rug, green partition screen, oak tiger-claw antique round table are available if tenant wants to use them. Bathroom has Travertine marble floor, large mirrored cabinet, built-in cosmetic / shaving enlarging mirror, built-in wood shelves, sea glass surrounds sink; bathtub and shower have built-in hand rails; high-end shower-head system. Washer – dryer.

* Storage room for bikes, luggage, etc. shared between landlord and tenant.
* Comcast cables are installed in both the main floor and the loft. The loft has a built-in mantel for a TV.
Heat and air conditioning is controlled by the tenant.
Adjustable lighting in large space, dining area, and bedroom.

The apartment being so open would not work for the privacy needs of two non-cohabitating people, or couple with a child.

$3,200/month, includes utilities, except electricity which tenant pays. Dupont Circle location: 1700 block of S Street, NW, two blocks from Lauriol Plaza, Rosemary’s Thyme, and other restaurants along 18th and 17th streets. Less than 10 minutes walk to Dupont Circle Metro, Safeway, and Connecticut Avenue shops and restaurants. Also close to 14th Street Trader Joe’s and restaurants, cafes; Whole Foods on P between 14th and 15th.”
