Today’s Rental “Note that this is a historic home, not updated with marble and jacuzzi tubs like you see on HGTV, but in good condition”

This rental is located at 11th and Park Road, NW. The Craigslist ad says:

“$5600 / 6br – Columbia Heights Row House – 6 Bedrooms, Porch, Yard & More!

AVAILABLE September 1st – Large Columbia Heights row house available in ideal 11th St. NW location! Sad to lose a great group of tenants, but grad school is done and they’re going their separate ways. Looking for a group of up to 6 tenants, not renting the rooms to individuals. The location is easily the best “feature” of the house, two doors down from Red Rocks Pizza, and a block or two from Meridian Pint, the Coupe DC and many more great spots to eat, drink and be merry. Also short walking distance from the Columbia Heights Metro and all of the amenities around it – grocery store, Target, etc.

The house also features:

-6 bedrooms on three floors (great for housemates)
Note: bedrooms vary widely in size, which has worked well for past tenants where some are willing to pay more of the rent for the larger rooms and others are happy to save money in the smaller ones.
-Front porch and yard
-Back yard
-Exposed brick
-Washer/dryer
-Dishwasher
-Two refrigerators (also great for housemates)

Note that this is a historic home, not updated with marble and jacuzzi tubs like you see on HGTV, but in good condition. I’ve owned the house for ten years and tenants have always been very happy there.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
