“They’re looking for a tenant to fill the many needs within the area (coffee, plant shop, bookstore, home goods, etc etc)”

14th and Randolph Street, NW – mural now covered by a new building going up next door

“Dear PoPville,

As has been reported recently, there has been increased crime happening on upper 14th street. This involves the sale of drugs, human trafficking, the source of which seems to culminate in front of a few vacant properties along the 3600 & 3800 block of 14th St NW.

This has become a growing problem, and in an effort to figure out what’s going on with these landlords who are just sitting on properties I reached out to the leasing agent of two properties on the 3600 block of 14th st NW between perry and spring which I walk past daily. He mentioned that the landlord is actively trying to find local small businesses to move into these locations and wants to find a great tenant to aide in the continuous improvement of upper 14th st.

With that said, I told the leasing agent I would take to the streets (and web) to crowd source a potential tenant for him, in a selfish effort to improve my own daily life. They’re looking for a tenant to fill the many needs within the area (coffee, plant shop, bookstore, home goods, etc etc). If you’re familiar with this area, you know how many local businesses have been stepping up to improve their properties and become mainstay in the area and many neighbors new and old would love to support a business which is local and also shares those same values.

Heres the catch: the property owner of these two particular spots on Perry St NW is not super interested in doing tenant improvement work for the tenant, but is willing to offer rent abatement for up to a year so the tenant can do improvements themselves. The leasing agent can be reached at: [email protected] and is very open to hearing what the community is seeking in a new business, as well as from individuals interested in opening their own spot.

If you happen to have a concept for a business, or a connection to business who is looking to open or expand, please please reach out! This area has about 10 condo developments in the works within a mile radius, tons of foot traffic, and a huge need for additional options in the community for just about anything.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
