Ed. Note: Congrats on the victory – this is indeed awesome!!

“Dear PoPville,

It’s that time of year again … we’re looking for a new home (literally) for our (grand-prize-winning!) entry to the 2018 American Visionary Art Museum Kinetic Sculpture Race. (Last year you helped get the word out about our enormous flower basket) This year, we have a small block of Baltimore rowhouses to give away. If you’re interested, here’s the link to our Craigslist post:

The time has come to disassemble our grand-prize-winning entry to the American Visionary Art Museum’s 2018 Kinetic Sculpture Race: “Baltimore Wheel Estate” — an homage to the Baltimore rowhome. Are you the new home for our homes?

All together, the houses are 11ft high and 12ft wide. Each house is about 4 feet wide and 2 feet deep. The “brick” house is 11 feet high and the “Formstone” houses are 9 feet high. The houses are made of wood and painted foam so they aren’t terribly heavy. If you are tempted to claim one for a playhouse, just a heads up that you’d need to do a LOT of child-proofing first (there are sharp screws and splintered wood).

Despite one very brief dip into the Baltimore Harbor, the homes are not waterproofed. Each house has two sides, so there are 6 house faces in total which, if disassembled and lined up side-by-side could create a flat, 6-house block. (Well, actually, 4 house faces, 2 corner bar faces. But you get the idea.)

Bicycles, painted window screens, lamp posts, parking signs, and bust of Divine are not included.

We’d love to see these go to good use — please tell us what you’ve got in mind! Pick-up in Takoma Park, MD.

*** THE THREE HOUSES COME APART, BUT YOU WILL NEED A TRUCK TO TRANSPORT THEM.***”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
