Your Afternoon Animal Fix – AdoPtville

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share for the regular fix please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. AdoPtville is run by two volunteers who compile these pets weekly from local shelters.

2-year-old hound mix January is one cool chick! She is thoroughly house- and crate-trained, and loves the outdoors, even if she’s just hanging out in a sunny spot. January can be a bit shy and timid, but will gain confidence in a calm home where she has a good routine (and maybe another chill pup to show her the ropes!). January is in good health, with all vaccinations up-to-date, and has been spayed. Find out more about this gorgeous girl here or by emailing [email protected]

Now this goofy kitty got his name from his snowy-white fur, and not his demeanor! A loving and affectionate cat, 1-year-old Snow is incredibly playful, which makes sense, as he’s barely out of “kittenhood”! This handsome and snuggly kitty is eager to please, and gets along well with other cats – in fact, it would be great to adopt him along with a friend, as young cats adopted in pairs do so well! Snow is in good health and will make someone a great companion for a long time to come. Find out more about this cool dude here or by emailing [email protected]

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
