How Does Colada Shop Celebrates Two Years? With a Piña Colada Festival of course!!

“It has been two years since the emblematic Cuban social hub, Colada Shop, opened its doors in the DMV area and brought to Washingtonians the fascinating culinary landscape of the islands’ favorite bites and drinks. Today, Colada Shop continues to embody the spirit of the island and celebrate this vibrant and energetic culture.

To commemorate this summer, Chef Mario Monte and his team welcome friends and fans to the second annual Piña Colada Festival.

Guests will have an opportunity to try 3 different versions of this tropical trifecta of pineapple, roasted coconut and rum, including a boozy popsicle. These selections, which will also be available on Thursday’s Havana Nights at special prices, promise to meet the requirements of the perfect treat for this hot summer weather.

The festival will kick off with a tropical party on Tuesday, July 10th starting at 4:00PM. Guests will be able to indulge in a variety of pineapple themed food specials and complimentary snacks like Pan con Lechón (slow cooked pork with pickled pineapple, mojo, cilantro aioli); Plantain Chips with Pineapple Salsa (fried plantains with homemade pineapple salsa); and Pineapple & Coconut Empanada (warm pastry filled with pineapple chunks and coconut). A Special Piña Colada served in a fresh pineapple and prepared with Bacardi 8 will be available for $30 and serves two people.

WHEN: Kick-Off Party Tuesday July 10th from 4:00PM – 10:00PM

Festival – From Tuesday, July 10th through Sunday, July 22nd.
