“If you see a red Honda Ruckus with a Montana license plate”

“Right after your post about owning a scooter too.”

“Dear PoPville,

Our much beloved Honda Ruckus was stolen last night from the corner of Summit Pl and Quarry Rd NW in Lanier Heights. I had a heavy duty Kryptonite lock/chain and the thieves cut right through it.

My boyfriend filed a police report this morning. Apparently, another scooter was stolen two blocks away last night on the corner of Summit Pl and Clydesdale. They smashed the area around the ignition, so I have a suspicion that it was some kind of scooter stealing ring that is only interested in parts.

If you see a red Honda Ruckus with a Montana license plate (which has no doubt been removed), please call the police and report the location. The black seat has a large chunk missing from the front of it, exposing the yellow foam.

I’ve scoured Craigslist in hopes the thieves are dumb enough to list it there. I also made a post on NextDoor. I’m fully expecting to never see it again, though. Heartbreaking as I loved that scooter…my boyfriend brought it all the way from Montana only to get it stolen less than a year in to living in DC.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
