KITSUEN RAMEN + HOOKAH BAR coming to H Street, NE

1362 H Street, NE via loopnet

Have you ever had a bowl of ramen and thought to yourself – you know what would go well with this? Peach flavored tobacco. Well, you my friend are in luck!!

From a press release:

“Wayne Johnson and Tony Perry got their humble start as promoters in the DC nightlife scene. Since, they’ve moved into ownership roles as partners at Saint Yves and the highly anticipated lounge Abigail, in the space “The Huxley” once occupied. Now they have their sights set on the restaurant world.

Venturing out of clubs and lounges, Kitsuen represents a step into food & beverage and has always been a passion project of the duo and with its anticipated opening this Fall. They’ve travelled and tasted ramen around the world and are excited to introduce signature bowls and cocktails at their new bar.

The space located at 1362 H ST NE is adjacent to popular H Street spots like Maketto, Red Rocks, Rock & Roll Hotel and H street country club and will boast 2200 sq ft across 2-floors and a robust outdoor back patio. The design will feature a high-end Asian inspiration that promises to offer a departure from a place you’d usually grab a bite and hookah.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
