“Good evening. At approximately 11:45pm on Wednesday June 13, members of the Third District responded to the 1300 block of U Street NW to investigate an armed robbery of a citizen. At approximately 11:48pm, we were alerted to an attempted armed robbery of a citizen in the 2900 block of 13th Street NW. As officers and detectives were investigating these cases, at 12:22am, an armed carjacking took place in the area of 13th and Irving Street NW.
In all 3 of these cases, the lookouts for the suspects were very similar.
Shortly after the reported carjacking, officers observed the stolen vehicle and were able to stop it without further incident at North Capitol Street and Michigan Ave NW. 3 juvenile makes were taken into custody and what is believed to be a B.B. gun has been recovered, along with the carjacked vehicle. The detectives continue to investigate and the juveniles will be charged accordingly.”
