The Good Silver “we’re tearing it all down and starting from scratch” in Columbia Heights “Now Your Spot for EPIC Sandwiches and Cheap Booze”

3410 11th Street, NW between Park and Monroe

From the Good Silver:

“The Good Silver, located at 3410 11th St NW in Columbia Heights, is happy to announce we are switching things up in a big way. After a year-long identity crisis (“is it a cocktail bar, a sports bar, or a tinder spot?”), we’re tearing it all down and starting from scratch. So, we’ve combined two of our favorite things: deli sandwiches and booze. If your favorite cocktail is whiskey neat, and you believe the path to enlightenment is on top of pastrami piled high, you will be right at home at the new Good Silver. The food menu, from chef Mytia Crawley, features cured and smoked meats from new, local company Epic Curing. For beverages we’re sticking to bottles, cans, combos and cocktails that don’t require a PhD to appreciate (all $10 and under).

Menu and more after the jump.

Starting tonight come on in to TGS and get “Hot Classics” like Smoked Turkey and Cheese on sourdough ($10 with a side of chips and a pickle) or “Something Extra” like The Great Hambino (ham, bacon, Swiss, pickles and The Good Sauce, $15 with chips and a pickle). You can also enjoy “Breakfast All Day” with a Classic Two Egg Breakfast with thick slabs of bacon ($11) or try our Beet Hash Skillet (caramelized beets and onions, hash browns, feta, sunny side egg, $12) for a delicious vegetarian meal.

Pair your grub with libations such as a High Life and Old Overholt combo ($5) or an Orange Crush ($9) on draft if you’re feeling like something more creative, but still affordable. Because as much as we like a shrub cocktail with a cutesy garnish, we like a shot and a beer more (and, hopefully, you do too).

We look forward to having you and yours try out this new chapter at The Good Silver and telling us what ya think. Look out for delivery and a retail package selection of deli items coming later this summer.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
