From DDOT:

“The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announced the arrival of free public WiFi on all of its newest DC Circulator buses.

The DC Circulator fleet is currently made up of 72 buses, including the largest fleet of electric buses on the east coast. 58 of the buses are equipped with free public Wifi and will serve all six of the DC Circulator routes.

“Integrating free Wi-Fi into the amenity offerings on our vehicles is a crucial step forward in delivering transit services that meet riders’ expectations in a digitally connected world,” said DDOT Director Jeff Marootian. ” We constantly strive to improve the customer experience, and we’re excited to offer this new service.”

Customers should look for the Wi-Fi symbol above bus doors indicating Wi-Fi availability. Riders can connect their portable devices to the free public Wi-Fi network in just three simple steps:

Access the device’s Wi-Fi settings
Select “DCCirculatorPublicWiFi”
Read and accept the Terms of Service Agreement

Free on-board Wi-Fi is the latest modern technology enhancement adopted by DC Circulator to make sustainable transportation more attractive to residents and visitors of the District. Most buses in the fleet also include USB ports and dual-screen digital displays.

Wi-Fi availability will be a standard feature on all future bus purchases. For more information log on http://www.dccirculator.com/free-onboard-wi-fi/”
