There’s a lot going on below and it may require a lot of clicking around but damn.
And now he shouted that Jews are “termites” while another person goes on a rant about Elissa Silverman in a rally “to end divisive politics”

Also, Trayon White did not organize or attend this rally. It was organized by @JoshuaLopez202 who said of the anti-Jew comments: “We are going to create safe zones, and folks are going to say wrong things and we’ll correct them”

These hate-filled and anti-Semitic comments should be condemned loud and clear. They have no place and should have no safe harbor. https://t.co/o23UjhAtQ4

Local reporter/media legend Jonetta Rose Barras just wrote a strong piece on @trayonwhite. She doesn’t use twitter so I will use my platform to share her statement.

Thus far, I have not seen any of the same people condemn what is happening in Israel. I have not heard any calls for the resignation of Jewish/Israeli leadership who have killed the innocent and continue to violent basic human and moral principles.

There is so much anti-semitism in this thread. This wasn't a unity rally. It was an attack on Jewish leadership. Disgusted. https://t.co/UKzFd9rdG5

That entire statement could have been replaced with "Hey, Jews in America: instead of complaining about anti-Jewish bigotry in America, why don't you feel bad about the actions of a foreign country? Because, you know, that's where your real loyalty is, you fake Americans."

“The following is a statement from Councilmember David Grosso (I-At Large) on the rally held outside the Wilson Building on April 26, 2018:
“I am extremely alarmed by the disgusting anti-Semitic rhetoric used to attack both the Jewish Community and a Council colleague yesterday, right on the steps of the John A. Wilson Building. This type of hate speech must be immediately denounced and cannot be given a safe space to be heard in our city.
“This rally was organized by Joshua Lopez, who was appointed by the mayor to serve on the District of Columbia Housing Authority Board of Commissioners. When Mr. Lopez’s nomination came up for a vote this year, I joined the concerns raised by some of my colleagues about Mr. Lopez’s temperament and qualifications and ultimately voted against his appointment. And now this. Mr. Lopez should personally apologize to Councilmember Elissa Silverman and resign his seat on the D.C. Housing Authority Board immediately.“

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!
The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!
What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
