Federal agencies in the Washington, DC area are OPEN under 2 hours DELAYED ARRIVAL and employees have the OPTION FOR UNSCHEDULED LEAVE OR UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK. Employees should plan to arrive for work no more than 2 hours later than they would be expected to arrive.”

DC Public Schools reports they will be closed today January 4, 2018″

“NWS reports the current temperature is 24 degrees with a wind chill of 9 degrees. Today’s forecast is snow, mainly before 10am. Areas of blowing snow before 10am. High near 27. Blustery, with a northwest wind 16 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Tonight’s forecast, mostly clear, with a low around 11. Wind chill values as low as -4. Northwest wind 15 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Therefore, The Department of Human Services (DHS) in collaboration with DCHSEMA will keep the city’s Cold Emergency Plan activated for Thursday January 04, 2018.”
