“I am looking for a backyard or parking space for my tiny house”

“Dear PoPville,

My name is Tri Trinh and I am looking for a backyard or parking space for my tiny house. My tiny house is 8 feet wide, 24 feet long, 13.5 feet high and it sits on wheels. I will need access to a garden hose and electricity. I can pay a monthly rent, cover utilities, help with outdoor chores and keep an eye on the property.

I am fascinated with minimalism, simple living and tiny houses! Minimalism has helped me rid my life of physical and mental items that no longer brings me joy.

I am originally from California and came to Washington, DC in 2011 to intern at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in their special events department. After my internship, I was offered a full-time position at the Kennedy Center. I got to work on really fun events such as the Kennedy Center Honors, Mark Twain Prize, and even got to plan a reception at the White House with President Obama! After working at the Kennedy Center for 5 years, I started a photography business as a side hustle (because let’s be honest, the non-profit arts sector does not pay very much). My side hustle took off and after a year, I was able to leave my position at the Kennedy Center and work for myself full time. I am currently the owner and operator of Hot Pink Photo Booth. We provide a fun and customizable photo experience to events and weddings all over the DMV.

During my free time, I enjoy yoga, hiking, camping and biking. I love yoga and have been practicing with Yoga District for over 5 years now.

I currently live in the Capital Hill/H St. NE area. I’ve also lived in Bloomingdale, SW Waterfront and Dupont area. I have grown to love this city and call it my home. My dream is to be able to park my tiny house in DC so I can continue to fall in love with this city more and more.

If you have a space available or have any questions, I can be contacted at 202.567.1448 or [email protected].”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
