“a demonstration of an innovative rat abatement tactic using dry ice”

Hell, bring out the flamethrowers, whatever it takes…

From the Mayor’s Office:

“On Monday, December 18, at 3:00 p.m., Mayor Muriel Bowser will participate in a community walk in Ward 6 which will begin with a demonstration of an innovative rat abatement tactic using dry ice. The Mayor will be joined by Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen and Administration officials. During the walk, the Mayor will address neighborhood concerns and hear from DC residents and business owners in the H Street Corridor neighborhood. Starting location of the walk will be at Auto Zone, 1207 H Street, NE.

As part of her #BacktoBasicsDC effort, Mayor Bowser announced new tactics aimed at decreasing the rodent population in Washington, DC, including solar trash cans; smart litter bins; and the Waste Compactor Grant Program – which will allow up to 60 local businesses to buy or lease trash compactors for bulk trash, waste, and recyclables. Mayor Bowser also highlighted Text to 311 (DC311), an accessible way for DC residents to request rat abatement services via text message. These initiatives contribute to the Administration’s efforts to keep the city clean and support public health for all residents.”

Finding a gift for moms can be difficult. Google “Mother’s Day gifts,” and you’ll scroll through endless lists of beauty products, candles and fuzzy robes. Sure, those are sweet, but sometimes it’s fun to surprise loved ones with something a little more, well, practical!

Here’s one idea: Give her a gift certificate for a home cleaning from Well-Paid Maids. It’s the perfect “thank you,” “I love you” or “you’ve got this” for any mom. She can schedule the home cleaning at her convenience and breathe easy knowing she has one less thing to do.

Our cleaners will take care of everything, including vacuuming and mopping as well as cleaning and dusting countertops, tables, mirrors, appliances and more. Sinks, toilets, showers and appliance exteriors also get a good scrub.
