Anyone Been to the Star Wars Pop Up Bar on H Street, NE? Also Clean Eatz coming to the first floor of this building

816 H Street, NE

“Dear PoPville,

With all the news about the return of the Christmas bar, and the success of Game of Thrones bar, I’m really surprised there hasn’t been more buzz about The Dark Side bar (Star Wars-themed) happening on H Street right now!”

Dark Side’s website says:

“Attention all space nerds, distant travelers, and creatures of the night. You are invited to explore the dark side of your city in a truly immersive galactic experience. Dark forces are taking over New York City, Washington DC, and Hollywood California for a very limited time. Come experience the power, fury and the truly macabre environment of The Dark Side Bar.

We will be hosting nightly events and parties including The intergalactic burlesque show featuring performers from many different planets. Themed dance and dj nights, trivia, alien speed dating and games of chance.

Our cocktail menu boasts 6 custom cocktails from different parts of the Galaxy that are sure to give you the feels.

Patrons are encouraged to come in costume to blend in but not required to do so. Walk ups are welcome but reservations are highly encouraged to guarantee admission. Reservation are $33 per person and include two of our signature custom cocktails per person. Walk ins will be $40 per person. We are offering a very creative and “Galaxy inspired” menu of small bites and sharing plates onsite. Fans can expect to see tentacles on sticks (soy bbq glazed octopus skewers) Bantha Fodder (vegan sushi egg rolls) and other interesting bites. The food will vary day to day as we attempt to keep the program interesting and truly galactic!

Book now before it’s too late, we have a good feeling about this!”

Anyone been yet?

And regarding this building – Frozen Tropics reports:

“At the moment Mythology’s 2nd floor lounge space is a Star Wars inspired pop up called The Darkside Bar, and the pop up is scheduled to stick around through January 15th. Once The Darkside Bar pop up concludes, Mythology’s colorful clouds and signature fries will head upstairs.

A fast casual concept called Clean Eatz will take over the 1st floor.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
