From an email:

“District Vintage presents a vintage pop-up shop at Suns Cinema in Mount Pleasant just in time for Halloween.

District Vintage brings Washington, D.C. a temporary shopping experience with vintage shops from in and around the metro area. Visitors are invited to experience this unique shopping event at Suns Cinema – Mount Pleasant’s one and only art house movie theater.

Some of the participating vendors include: Check Engine Vintage specializing in mid-century housewares & decor; City Bone Vintage featuring handpicked vintage fashion spanning the 70s-90s; Heavy Penny Vintage showcasing wearable, unique goods from generations past; Ruby Threads Vintage vending truly special one-of-a-kind pieces. Many of these shops have previously been available online only. For one day customers are invited to shop them in real life.

District Vintage Pop-Up Shop will be open Saturday Oct. 21 from 11am to 4pm at Suns Cinema 3701 Mount Pleasant Street, NW Washington, D.C. 20010.

Visitors will have a chance to browse an array of locally curated vintage goods including housewares, jewelry, clothing, accessories, footwear, and more. This event is free to attend and will feature vegan sweets, & libations for purchase.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
