“approached the operator while the bus was moving and sprayed him in the face and body with Sunny Delight from a squeeze bottle”

Rough run for WMATA bus drivers continues with this odd assault.

From WMATA:

“Metro Transit Police today arrested Allison Thomas, 24, of Northwest DC, for allegedly assaulting a Metrobus operator by spraying him with an orange beverage.

The incident began shortly after 5 p.m. aboard a W1-route Metrobus in the 4300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Ave, SW.

At the bus stop, a female, later identified as Thomas, boarded the bus with two children and began walking toward the rear of the vehicle. The bus operator pulled away from the stop, and Thomas immediately confronted the operator demanding to know why he pulled off before she was in her seat.

The operator explained that he did not notice that she was not seated, and that he did not want to get into an argument, at which point Thomas allegedly became disorderly and began cursing at the operator. Thomas then approached the operator while the bus was moving and sprayed him in the face and body with Sunny Delight from a squeeze bottle that was in her possession.

The operator safely stopped the bus, and Thomas dropped the bottle and left the scene.

Metro Transit Police responded and located Thomas about a block away where she allegedly resisted arrest and attempted to flee from officers. She subsequently admitted to committing the assault.

In addition to charges of simple assault and resisting arrest, Thomas will be charged as a fugitive from justice for an outstanding assault warrant out of Prince George’s County.

The bus operator declined medical attention.”

Finding a gift for moms can be difficult. Google “Mother’s Day gifts,” and you’ll scroll through endless lists of beauty products, candles and fuzzy robes. Sure, those are sweet, but sometimes it’s fun to surprise loved ones with something a little more, well, practical!

Here’s one idea: Give her a gift certificate for a home cleaning from Well-Paid Maids. It’s the perfect “thank you,” “I love you” or “you’ve got this” for any mom. She can schedule the home cleaning at her convenience and breathe easy knowing she has one less thing to do.

Our cleaners will take care of everything, including vacuuming and mopping as well as cleaning and dusting countertops, tables, mirrors, appliances and more. Sinks, toilets, showers and appliance exteriors also get a good scrub.
