“DC Bands to “Rock for Sanctuary DMV” at Slash Run on September 29
Ménage À Garage, The Prahns, District Sky Punch and Son Cosita Seria unite for a cause.

What: 250+ days into the resistance of the current presidency, four DC-based bands raise a fist in protest to the recent attacks against immigrants and other targeted communities at a concert benefiting Sanctuary DMV. Join us in solidarity to support our most vulnerable neighbors, to speak out against anti-immigrant policies and actions, and to #DefendDACA among other protections.

Pop punk power trio Ménage À Garage (MÀG) has become known for “crushing venues across the region with their heavy, yet simple, melodic rock beckoning a return to the music of previous decades.” MÀG released its second EP “Throw My Doubts on the Fire” in November 2016.  Also since November 2016, MÀG has been spending its energy resisting and raising money for causes under attack.

The Prahns are noise makers from the DMV area with a healthy affinity for chill times and chill sounds. District Sky Punch has been described as indie rock/pop and a touch of funk.

Son Cosita Seria was formed in 2008 by a group of friends in DC who are students of Son Jarocho, traditional string music from the state of Veracruz in southeastern Mexico that combines Spanish, indigenous, and West African roots. As part of a new generation that has been embracing the music and joining in a movement to preserve these cultural traditions, the band shares the spirit of the fandango with the community here in DC!

Sanctuary DMV is dedicated to protecting immigrants and targeted communities in the DMV (DC, Maryland, and Virginia) areas. Sanctuary DMV is a solidarity group that pledges to resist policy proposals to target and deport millions of undocumented immigrants and discriminate against marginalized communities including those who are black, indigenous, Muslim, latinx, and LGBTQ+.”
