“Confirmed Shooting at 1759 hrs in the 1200 block of I Street, SE. No Lookout at this time.”

Update:

“On 9/10/17 at approximately 6:00pm, MPD officers responded to the 1200 block of I ST SE for sounds of gunshots. Once on scene officers found an adult male on the ground conscious and breathing suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower back. The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment. This incident is currently being investigated. Anyone with information involving this case can call the Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099 or Text tip at 50411.”

“Around 9:30 PM last night, MPD found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound inside of 615 Newton Pl NW. The victim did not survive his injuries. Homicide detectives are investigating and request that anyone with information can call MPD at 202-727-9099 or text anonymously at 50411”

Update:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 600 block of Newton Place, Northwest, on Sunday, September 10, 2017.

At approximately 9:28 pm, members of the Fourth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and found no signs of life. The decedent remained on the scene until being transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The decedent has been identified as 41-year-old Antwaun Smith, of no fixed address.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
