Georgetown’s New SweetGreen Opening Early August

1044 Wisconsin Avenue, NW

From a press release:

“Sweetgreen, the seasonal, scratch cooking restaurant with a mission of connecting people to real food, today announced its new Georgetown location at 1044 Wisconsin Avenue.

Slated to open early August 1, Sweetgreen Georgetown is nearly 1,700 sq. ft. larger than the brand’s original location on M Street – which opened 10 years ago this August. The added space brings several new features to the Georgetown community, including: mobile + online ordering for easy pickup; a full menu offering to include hot toppings like sesame roasted tofu and curry-marinated chickpeas; two levels of indoor seating + outdoor patio space; and parking – making it even easier to grab lunch + dinner on the go.

Sweetgreen X FRESHFARM

After 10 years of partnership with FRESHFARM, sweetgreen and the nonprofit are launching a first-of-its-kind community partnership that brings the brands’ shared mission to life.
Starting Saturday July 29th and running every Saturday morning 10AM – 1:00PM through October 28th – Sweetgreen will partner with FRESHFARM to host a community farm stand in the parking lot.
The FRESHFARM Georgetown Farm Stand will feature locally grown items from Jason Gross of Hillside Meadow Farm, who will bring a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, eggs, and meats including beef, lamb, and chicken to the Georgetown community.

Additionally, sales from Sweetgreen Georgetown’s opening day will be used to support another FRESHFARM program located at Anne Beers Elementary School, a FRESHFARM FoodPrints partner school in DC’s Ward 7.

Those sales will fund a low-cost CSA with Rainbow Hill Farm — a certified organic, woman-owned, 19-acre vegetable farm near Charles Town, WV — that’ll provide the Ward 7 community with fresh, locally grown food for 10 weeks in the fall and again in the spring. FRESHFARM FoodPrints teachers will offer onsite customer support and education through cooking demonstrations, samples, and recipes. Customers will be able to use SNAP, WIC, Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, Produce Plus, cash, credit or debit to purchase their share.”

Finding a gift for moms can be difficult. Google “Mother’s Day gifts,” and you’ll scroll through endless lists of beauty products, candles and fuzzy robes. Sure, those are sweet, but sometimes it’s fun to surprise loved ones with something a little more, well, practical!

Here’s one idea: Give her a gift certificate for a home cleaning from Well-Paid Maids. It’s the perfect “thank you,” “I love you” or “you’ve got this” for any mom. She can schedule the home cleaning at her convenience and breathe easy knowing she has one less thing to do.

Our cleaners will take care of everything, including vacuuming and mopping as well as cleaning and dusting countertops, tables, mirrors, appliances and more. Sinks, toilets, showers and appliance exteriors also get a good scrub.
