From an email:

“It’s a sad day for beer lovers. Regional Food and Drink – known to most as RFD has officially closed after 15 years and is selling everything from the décor to the flat screen TVs and kitchen equipment at online only auction.

The Chinatown Caps fan hangout was ousted by rising rent prices in DC and has to clean out the entire space down to the walls before they vacate the premises. They are selling just about every kind of beer décor you can think of including neon signs, flags, and metal signs. The auction inventory also includes all of the restaurant and bar equipment from the dining tables to the plasma HDTVs, a draft system with 30 taps, and even the original RFD sign – everything must go. Get some great items for your man cave or take home a piece of the bar that provided many beers, memories, Caps celebrations, and awkward first dates over the years.

Potential buyers can check out the full auction inventory online here and can preview the items in person Tuesday, July 25th from 2-4 p.m. The online auction starts closing Wednesday, July 26th at 1:07 p.m.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
