“Dear PoPville,

As many of you are aware, two Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Officers on bike patrol and a DC Department of Transportation employee were struck by a pickup truck on the 2400 block of 18th St. NW on Thursday, June 8.

Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) 1C wishes to express our thoughts and prayers for the injured. We are grateful to MPD and the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, who responded quickly to the incident.

ANC1C will conduct an initial review of this incident at the ABC and Public Safety Committee and the Planning, Zoning, and Planning, Zoning & Transportation Committee meetings this month. We welcome the community’s participation and views on safety in the 18th street corridor.

As Chair of the Planning, Zoning & Transportation Committee (PZT) of ANC 1C I have requested a representative from the District Department of Transportation to attend the June 21 meeting of the PZT to provide options on how we can construct traffic calming measures to reduce the threat of such violence occurring again.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
