The PoP Peep Project: “Peeps on the Platform.”

IMG_2742

Shelly Layser writes:

“This is my DC-Metro themed Peep’s diorama entitled “Peeps on the Platform.” Startled peeps are standing on the platform at the L’Peep Plaza metro stop, which is single-tracking and experiencing delays as smoke creeps into the tunnel. Above ground, Police Peeps have blocked off the station with caution tape as a small group of Protesting Peeple have begun to gather.”

All entries should be emailed to [email protected] with ‘The PoP Peep Project’ in the subject line. Please include a brief description about your entry and please include 2 photos, one closeup and one capturing the whole scene. Entries should be based on local topics of interest if possible and sent by Friday, April 28th. Depending on how many I receive, I’ll try to post all as I get them. I will then pick 5-10 finalists that you guys will vote on. I will take the winners out to dinner (courtesy Carmine’s Family Style Italian Restaurant) and drinks (unless the high school kids win, then just dinner.) I will also bury the winners (and 2nd and 3rd place) in PoPville t-shirts. Good luck!!

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
