Listed during the freakishly Spring-like February, this fee simple new construction townhome on busy Sherman Avenue was under contract in just over a week. In addition to being turn key brand new, which is highly appealing to current DC home buyers, it also features a separate unit with “strong revenue generating potential” (per the listing language).

We’ve come a really long way since the early internet listings when a virtual tour in the multiple listing system equated to a camera that was placed in the center of a room and rotated. Check out the 3D virtual experience.

Fee simple houses within a fifth of a mile of the subject property range wildly in size, and condition, so the prices are all over the place. Here are the recent active listings and settled sales since September 2016, from a (not condo) $392,000. sale all the way to an active $2.2M listing on 11th Street nearby. (The data is best viewed in the desktop version, which you can see on a phone or tablet by clicking the upper right. You can order the listings by price, street name, etc. by clicking the heading title at the top.)

The listing agent for this property was Jonathan Rutherford with TTR Sotheby’s International Realty. Judy Cranford, with Cranford and Associates, assisted the Buyer.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
