34-year-old found fatally stabbed inside her apartment yesterday after not being seen since Sunday

NBC Washington reports:

“A woman was found bound and stabbed to death inside her Northeast Washington apartment Tuesday afternoon, days after she was last seen at a D.C. museum. [Corcoran Gallery of Art]”

From MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred in the 600 block of 14th Street, Northeast, on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.

At approximately 4:19 pm, members of the First District responded to the listed location for a report of an unconscious person inside of a residence. Upon arrival, members located an adult female suffering from multiple stab wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and found no signs consistent with life. The victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The decedent has been identified as 34-year-old Corrina Mehiel, of Burnsville, North Carolina.

Detectives seek the public’s assistance in locating the victim’s vehicle. The vehicle is a 2004, Toyota Prius (4 door), blue in color, bearing a Kentucky Tag of 722 RMY. The vehicle has a yellow bumper sticker under the license plate as seen in the photo below

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both!
