“I’m reaching out to share exciting new details on Pearl Street Warehouse, the live music venue from the owners of Cantina Marina coming to The Wharf this fall. The Stone Pony of DC, Pearl Street Warehouse will anchor The Wharf’s new entertainment street (Pearl Street) and is the only venue of its kind in DC to offer live music every night of the week.
It’s filling a void in our music scene with live music from genres ranging from Americana, Rock, Country, Blues, Roots, Bluegrass and Alt-Country. To bring it to life, here’s a playlist we created to give you a sense of the type of music that has inspired the venue, and what you’ll come to find at Pearl Street Warehouse.
The venue holds 300 people and the mezzanine is only 25-feet from the stage, so every guest in the house will be treated to an intimate, front-row music experience. Pearl Street Warehouse will be more than a concert venue – it will have a full bar featuring diner-style comfort food, and will be the ideal neighborhood spot to pop in for a coffee or grab an after dinner drink and a live show.”

“Restaurateurs Bruce A. Gates, Nicholas Fontana and Henry Gandy announce Pearl Street Warehouse, a 4,000 square foot, 300-person live music venue to open at The Wharf on D.C.’s Southwest Waterfront in October 2017.
Evoking great American music cities such as New York, Seattle, Nashville and Austin, Pearl Street Warehouse will showcase music seven nights a week including rock, blues, roots, bluegrass and country. The venue, located on Pearl Street, the center of The Wharf’s entertainment alley, will also include a full bar and diner offering comfort staples and classic cocktails. The 40 seat diner will be open from first call for breakfast through post-performance eats and drinks.
Pearl Street Warehouse will offer a unique front-row experience with a classic and authentic American vibe. The venue’s state-of-the-art stage will showcase local and regional acts in addition to well-known touring bands and rising artists. Built to accommodate 150-person seated performances to 300-person concerts, Pearl Street Warehouse gives area music lovers a new home in Washington’s hottest new neighborhood.
“Pearl Street Warehouse is our ode to some of the great music venues of DC’s past,” said Gates, who along with Fontana and Gandy, owns the DC waterfront dock bar and restaurant Cantina Marina. “We’re building the venue that DC needs, and a place where we want to go every night: an authentic experience where the music is the focus and the atmosphere is one that is genuine and comfortable.”
“In addition to being a great venue for music, Pearl Street Warehouse will be the ideal neighborhood spot within The Wharf,” said co-founder Nicholas Fontana. “It’s the place where you can grab a quick bite for breakfast, lunch or dinner.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!
The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!
What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
