“Just in time for MLK Jr. day, I’m excited to share that Ten Tigers Parlour will be rolling out its new daytime menu starting at 11am this Monday, 1/16. Update: Thursday.
This includes a new selection of regional teas from China, Japan, Taiwan and traditional English favorites; the launch of TTP’s boba teas; and pastries from Kyirisan pastry chef Mollie Bird. While all daytime items are available for “grab & go,” complimentary wi-fi and outlets will also be offered to all guests looking to lounge.
PASTRY MENU – $4 per order
Green Tea Strawberry Cream Puff – classic pate choux with straberry Bavarian cream filling, green tea oured fondant glaze
Nutella Adzuki Bean Flower Cookies – based on a classic Chinese style shortbread with adzuki bean Nutella filling
Egg Custard Tart – classic Chinese pastry with egg custard filling in a puffed pastry shell crust
Taro Puffs – taro filling
Tiger Bao – classic bao dough with a tamarind cheesecake filling
TEA MENU – $5 per pot
China:
Keemun: Crisp and lively with flavorful burgundy notes. Delicious hints of oak with a golden red cup.
Rose Congou: This tea is layered 5 times with rose petals, which give the tea a delicate and ethereal rose character.
Lychee Congou: A leafy black tea infused with the flavor of lychee fruit producing a delightful, naturally scented tea.
Lapsang Souchong: A superior leaf Lapsang Souchong offering a crisp character with the remarkable and heady aroma of an oak fire.
Japan:
Genmaicha Yamasaki: Light, golden yellow liquor with a unique, toasty rice flavor tending sweet.
Taiwan:
Formosa Oolong: Smooth and slightly sweet; toasty with a touch of dryness.
Gunpowder Green: A green tea with strength and captivating green tea taste. The tight curl gives gunpowder a long shelf life – a prized attribute.
English Favorites:
Earl Grey: A beautiful rendition of the classic English black tea.
English Breakfast Supreme: A tea with good body and full tea flavor notes. Brews into a coppery bright cup, especially enticing with milk.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!
The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!
What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
