From a press release:

“The Washington Blade in partnership with DC Brau, Absolut Vodka, Tequila Avión, Jameson Irish Whiskey and Town Danceboutique are hosting the Love Trumps Hate Rainbow Bash on Thursday, January 19th from 9PM-1AM. DJ’s Keenan Orr and Tim Jackson will provide music and dancing. Town Danceboutique is located at 2009 8th St NW, Washington, DC 20001.

All proceeds of the ticket and raffle sales will benefit three local non-profits that embrace environmental, healthcare and LGBT issues.

Anacostia Watershed Society – The mission of the Anacostia Watershed Society is to protect and restore the Anacostia River and its watershed communities by cleaning the water, recovering the shores, and honoring the heritage.

La Clínica Del Pueblo – La Clinica del Pueblo is a non-profit, federally qualified health center that serves the Latino and immigrant populations of the Washington, DC metro area. Their goal is to provide culturally appropriate health services, focusing on those most in need.

Washington Blade Foundation – The Washington Blade Foundation initially founded to fund the digitization of the full 47-year print and photo archives of the Washington Blade Newspaper and to make it free and publicly accessible. With that work well underway, the Foundation is shifting its focusing to raising money to fund enterprise journalism projects in Latin America and other areas where LGBT advocacy work and visibility remain limited.

You can purchase tickets here.

Pre-sale tickets are $10 and includes 10 free raffle tickets. Additional raffle tickets will be for sale onsite. The event is 21+

Finding a gift for moms can be difficult. Google “Mother’s Day gifts,” and you’ll scroll through endless lists of beauty products, candles and fuzzy robes. Sure, those are sweet, but sometimes it’s fun to surprise loved ones with something a little more, well, practical!

Here’s one idea: Give her a gift certificate for a home cleaning from Well-Paid Maids. It’s the perfect “thank you,” “I love you” or “you’ve got this” for any mom. She can schedule the home cleaning at her convenience and breathe easy knowing she has one less thing to do.

Our cleaners will take care of everything, including vacuuming and mopping as well as cleaning and dusting countertops, tables, mirrors, appliances and more. Sinks, toilets, showers and appliance exteriors also get a good scrub.
