Devastating Update: “Tricia is gone”. Bloomingdale Resident, Tricia McCauley, Missing Since Christmas Day.

Full update from MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred in the 2200 block of M Street, Northwest, on Monday, December 26, 2016.

At approximately 11:58 pm, members of the Second District received a call for a sighting of vehicle in reference to a Critical Missing Person. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult female inside of the vehicle suffering from apparent trauma to the body. DC Fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene where they found no signs consistent of life. The decedent was pronounced dead at the scene by the Chief Medical Examiner.

The decedent remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The cause of death was determined to be asphyxia due to ligature strangulation with blunt force trauma and the manner of death to be homicide.

The decedent has been identified as 46-year-old Tricia McCauley, of Northwest, DC.

On Monday, December 26, 2016, 29-year-old Adrian Duane Johnson AKA Duane Adrian Johnson, of Upper Marlboro, MD, was arrested and charged with Theft II and Simple Assault.

Following the autopsy of the decedent, Mr. Johnson was additionally charged with First Degree Murder (Felony Murder).”

Tricia is gone, they have found her body. Thank you all for your work, support and love. To all of her DC family, I know she truly thought of you that way, thank you for being there for her all these years. Hang on to each other.”

Memorial Vigil planned:

“Tricia’s regular weekly yoga class at 5:15pm today is being transformed into a community-led vigil celebrating her life and love that lives on in all of us forever. Please come to Yoga District Bloomingdale (1830 1st St NW) at 5:15pm for brief meditation, a community sharing circle, and a couple chants followed by a 6:15pm candlelit procession to the park at 3rd and Elm Streets NW where another vigil for Tricia starts at 7pm. At the park feel free to share drawings, poems, plants, lotions, incense, words, skits, or any mementos that celebrate and honor Tricia.”

“The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in locating 46-year-old Tricia McCauley, who was last seen in the 2000 block of North Capitol Street, Northwest, on Sunday, December 25, 2016, at approximately 4:30 pm.

Tricia McCauley is described as a white female, approximately 5’2″, 110 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes, and a light complexion. A clothing description is unavailable at this time.

The male pictured below, who is described as approximately 5’9″ tall, with an athletic/muscular build, may be operating her vehicle which is also pictured below. The vehicle is a white, 2 door, Toyota Scion, bearing DC registration of FC0274.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Tricia McCauley, her vehicle, or the person who may be operating her vehicle is asked to call the Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099, the Youth and Family Services Division at 202-576-6768, or 911.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
