“Artomatic will return to Crystal City to host a signature event in the spring of 2017”

artomatic

Great news!! From a press release:

“Building on a partnership that started in 2007, Artomatic will return to Crystal City
to host a signature event in the spring of 2017. We anticipate attracting a large and diverse crowd showcasing a variety of creative work, including visual art, music, film, live performance, fashion, and more.

Look for more information about the next Artomatic in January when we kick off the New Year with a spring event in Crystal City!

Come on out and join us for Meet the Artists Night – Part 2 on Saturday, December 3 from 7pm until midnight.

The first one was so successful that we decided to do it again! Tell your friends, family, and anyone else who loves art to join us for this special evening.

Mission

Artomatic strengthens Washington’s artistic community and builds an audience for that community by bringing together artists to temporarily transform available space into a creative space.

How Artomatic Realizes its Mission

Artomatic hosts signature events in temporary spaces that enable the arts community, its supporters and community stakeholders to connect.

Artomatic events are unjuried and inclusive, allowing exhibition, presentation and publication opportunities for local artists, poets, writers and performers to display and perform their work.

Through classes and training at Artomatic events, we introduce new audiences to the arts and the arts community.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
